Is Showit Good for SEO? (2024)

Showit

By Caitlin Christensen

Trying to decide which website platform (a.k.a CMS) to build your website on?

If you are considering Showit but want to know if Showit is good for SEO? Then you are in the right place.

In this article, we do a deep dive to see if Showit is good for your SEO needs. So, grab a cup of coffee (or tea!), and let’s get started!

Is Showit good for SEO

The Big Question: Is Showit Good for SEO?

Yes, Showit is good for SEO!

It has all the SEO basics that you need to create a happy healthy website that search engines like.

By leveraging Showit’s SEO-friendly infrastructure, you can optimize your website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) and have clients and customers reaching out to your business (no ads needed).

When it comes to SEO the proof is in the pudding and I commonly see Showit websites in the top 3 spots in search results. So it’s pretty obvious yes Showit is good for SEO.

What is The Best Website Builder for SEO?

Against popular belief, any website platform builder can yield impressive SEO results. So, breathe a sigh of relief; that takes the pressure off a bit!

You might have come across claims touting WordPress as the ultimate SEO champion.

There’s some truth to that, mainly because of reasons like the ability to add specific plugins for SEO, image optimization and more. Further, it allows you to have full control over code as WordPress is an open-source platform.

On the flip side, there’s a persistent rumour that Wix doesn’t quite measure up in the SEO department, often attributed to reasons of limited technical SEO customization and issues with Image SEO, speed and performance.

I hear these assertions so frequently that it makes me wonder: Do people genuinely understand the reasons behind these beliefs?

Or have these statements been echoed so often that many accept them without a second thought?

Here’s the reality check. I’ve witnessed Wix websites clinching that coveted number 1 spot on search engine results. Conversely, I’ve also seen WordPress websites achieving terrible rankings.

Whilst choosing a platform that is deemed the ‘best’ can offer certain advantages, it’s essential to remember that SEO is a multifaceted beast.

Achieving top-tier results requires ongoing monthly efforts, fresh content, high-quality backlinks, patience, time, and more.

So, while your platform choice matters, it’s just one piece of the larger SEO puzzle.

Even SEO experts such as Neil Patel, Co-Founder at Neil Patel Digital, say the same thing.

I think the best way to prove that Showit is Good for SEO is by showcasing results. For the keyword ‘Luxury Wedding Photographer’ the first two results are from Showit Websites and the third is Squarespace.

This isn’t an easy keyword to rank for. According to Semrush ‘Luxury Wedding Photographer’ has a difficulty score of 50.

Are Some Website Builders Bad for SEO?

Yes, some website builders can limit your SEO potential, especially when used for small, one-page websites. While one-pagers can look sleek and be effective for specific purposes, they generally perform poorly for SEO. Here’s why:

1. Limited Content

One-page sites restrict the amount of content you can include, which means fewer opportunities to target multiple keywords. Google tends to favor sites that provide comprehensive information across various pages, making it difficult for a single-page site to rank well for a wide range of search terms.

2. Low Keyword Variety

With only one page to work with, it’s hard to cover multiple topics or optimize for different keywords. You’re essentially putting all your SEO eggs in one basket, which limits your chances of appearing in various searches.

3. Reduced Internal Linking

Internal links help search engines understand the structure and hierarchy of a website, passing link equity between pages. One-page websites lack this internal linking structure, reducing their overall SEO potential.

4. Poor User Engagement Metrics

Users on one-page sites may have shorter session durations and higher bounce rates, as there’s less to explore. Since Google considers engagement metrics when determining rankings, this could hurt your chances of climbing the search results.

5. Lack of Depth for Crawlers

Search engines appreciate depth. Multi-page sites offer a broader “map” for Google’s crawlers, with various pages providing context and relevancy signals. One-page sites can be harder to fully understand and categorize, impacting overall rankings.
